Our project focus is on the domestic core market and above all, in France, we specialise in wind power (>340 projects) and photovoltaic projects. In total, SaarLB has already financed over 470 wind and solar projects from international project developers / investors in France and Germany, as well as a first project in the Netherlands in 2019. This makes us the leading provider in this special segment of structured project financing for SMEs in the German core market and in France.

Together with our partners, we have completed renewable energy projects with a total nominal output of around 5,025 MW. The financing of these CO2-free technologies has achieved savings of around 8.7 million tonnes of CO2/year compared to conventional lignite or hard coal-fired power plants (with emitted CO2 emissions of around 1000g CO2 per kwh), which means that the business segment is making an effective contribution to climate protection. Irrespective of changing political and legal conditions, we want to continue to play a relevant role in the financing of renewable energies in our target markets in the future and to provide our customers and partners with sustainable, long-term support for their projects.
