Dr Thomas Bretzger has been Chairman of the Board of Management of SaarLB since 2018.

After holding various management positions in industry and the banking sector, including ones at Daimler-Benz, Deutsche Bank, HypoVereinsbank and Commerzbank, he joined Oldenburgische Landesbank as a member of the Management Board in 2012. There he held the position of Chief Risk Officer (CRO). After graduating with a PhD from the University of Hohenheim, the industrial engineer began his professional career at the German Savings Banks and Giro Association [Sparkassen- und Giroverband].
