SaarLB believes that the use of renewable energies such as wind power, photovoltaics and biomass/gas as well as the systematic optimisation of energy efficiency based on modern process technology along with plant and power plant technologies form the central pillars of a sustainable energy supply in Europe.
We have been actively supporting projects in the energy sector since 2003, especially projects in the area of renewable energies. We specialise in assisting with structured project financing (non-recourse) for SMEs with investment sums between EUR 5 million and 50 million. Our project focus is on wind power and photovoltaic projects.
For the structuring and financing of your projects in the target markets of Germany, France and the Netherlands, a German-French team of experts with 15 employees is available to you in Saarbrucken. You can rely on their practical experience in more than 470 financed projects with total nominal power of approx. 5.025 MW.
This market team is supplemented by a consistently bilingual team in the Risk Office, specialised Franco-German lawyers in the Bank and selected network partners in France.
In view
let us continue to assess the prospects for project developers/initiators, manufacturers of systems, project investors, and municipal companies / municipalities in projects specifically in the area of renewable energies as very good.
In all projects, we are interested in a long-term partnership with our customers – project initiators, project investors, municipal partners/energy supply companies – with the most sustainable project design possible. To this end, we work closely with our alliance partners, the regional savings banks and other partners from the Savings Banks Finance Group, for whom we regularly arrange local projects as a competence centre.

Under a refinancing agreement with the European Investment Bank for EUR 75 million, we support wind and photovoltaic projects of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs and midcaps) and public sector companies by providing access to a valuable source of low-cost financing and flexible repayment schedules.
